I found this beautiful prayer inscribed on the back of an old postcard
from a dear friend. It’s a good one to remember.
Every day.
Every day.
“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is sadness, joy;
Where there is darkness, light.”
~St. Francis of Assisi

I discovered this powerful prayer in a book a while ago and copied it into my journal. There's a second part, too:
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Awww, Laura Lou!! I love this picture, and I forgot that I wrote this prayer on the back. I love that you found it and posted it!! Please come visit soon.
